The Beehive, an award-winning venue in Honiton, East Devon, is a modern conference and event space built in 2014. Conveniently located in central Honiton, it is easily accessible by car, rail, or air.
The Beehive has a programme of live events, cinema & spaces for community activities, performing arts, visual art exhibitions, workshops, meetings and conferences. The venue is run by a charity and is used by numerous community organisations and special interest groups.
We aim to create a vibrant and stimulating centre that engages, challenges, entertains, supports, educates and encompasses our whole community. East Devon has a rich network of cultural organisations and community groups, many of whom make regular use of The Beehive.
We work with performing arts partner organisations such as East Devon Dance Academy, Theatre Kidz and Honiton Community Theatre Company who help nurture local talent. We offer education in science, the arts and literature through our partnership with The University of the Third Age, The Arts Society Honiton and East Devon Music Festival.
We also host monthly Acoustic open mic nights and Beehive Folk Cafe in our welcoming bar which attracts musicians from across East Devon, West Dorset and South Somerset. It offers opportunities for participation, enjoyment, achievement and networking.
We programme Visual Arts exhibitions in the Beehive gallery which champion the work of high-quality semi-professional and professionals in the South-West. In addition, we exhibit work from Charities, Schools, Colleges, Arts Organisations and Health & Well-being groups.
We offer a variety of spaces suitable for conferences, exhibitions, community activities, seminars, training courses, workshops, meetings, and live events. Our facilities include a 292 seat auditorium, a function room, and smaller meeting rooms to accommodate different needs.
We also have a cafe/bar available Monday to Friday, providing drinks, light bites, and cake. The bar is open during evenings when events are taking place. The Beehive features high-speed internet, free Wi-Fi, video projection/conferencing capabilities, a large screen auditorium with cinematic projection and surround sound, and professional technical staff to support your event.
