Barking Mad Dog Care home hosts dogs when their owners go on holiday or if they have a short stay in hospital.
I go out to meet the dogs, and the owner. I ask lots of questions so that the information gathered helps the hosts to keep the dog’s holiday as similar as it can be to being at home.
On the day of the holiday, I collect the dog(s) from his/her home along with every thing he/she needs on their holiday. I fill out the paperwork and change the tag on the dog’s collar so that whilst he/she is out, he/she are wearing the Barking Mad details. I take the dog to the host, where I stay until the dog is settled and the host has asked any questions that they would like.
I then take a picture of the dog and send a quick message to the owner along with the photo telling them how the dog travelled and that the dog has settled.
The following day, I contact the host again to have an update and send that through to the owner. During the holiday the host may send me photos and updates which I send on to the owner.
At the end of the holiday, I take the dog and all the dog’s belongings back to the owner and give a full rundown of the holiday. The dog also has a postcard of their holiday.
