InFocus is a specialist charity supporting people with vision impairment and complex needs to live more independent, fulfilling lives. Based locally, InFocus works with young adults providing specialist education, care and skills-based support that empowers individuals to build confidence, communication and independence.
Our charity shop in Honiton plays an important role in supporting this work. By offering a wide range of good-quality, pre-loved clothing, homeware and other items, the shop provides great value for the local community while raising vital funds for InFocus’s services. Every purchase and donation directly helps to support people with vision impairment and complex needs to develop essential life skills and achieve their potential.
Funds raised through the Honiton shop contribute to specialist education at InFocus College, which supports young people with vision impairment and additional needs as they prepare for adult life. The college focuses on communication, mobility and practical life skills, with learning tailored to each individual. For some students, Braille is taught and used daily, supported by specialist resources and facilities.
In addition to education, InFocus provides residential care, supported living, adult day care and the Life and Living Skills Programme. Communication is central to all of this work, helping individuals express themselves, make choices and take greater control of their lives.
The Honiton charity shop is more than a place to shop; it is a way for the local community to get involved and make a positive difference. By donating, volunteering or shopping with us, Honiton residents are helping to create opportunities, promote inclusion and support people with vision impairment and complex needs to thrive.
